I'm currently reading "The AI-Savvy Job Seeker." In 2026 I'm emphasizing to you how AI affects your job search and what you need to do to improve your chances of landing the job you want. Here's a summary of important points from chapter four:
You've got a LinkedIn profile--and so do a few million other people, many of whom are in the same line of work as you. How do you stand out?
Having the appropriate keywords is just the starting point. Once you score well in the search criteria, you have to stand out to the human who looks at your profile.
A generic, one-size-fits-all approach won't work. Your LI profile must have a laser-focus.
Your headline must speak directly to an employer's needs and showcase relevant experience and tangible results.
Start with your core function, then sprinkle in your professional level.
Add a dash of company culture and a pinch of industry spice.
Once you've developed your career focus, work on your UVP--Unique Value Proposition. That's your distinctive combination skills, qualifications, and traits that encapsulates your professional worth.
Investigate what are they (the companies in your field) are hungry for.Scour job postings; follow industry leaders on LinkedIn; attend industry events.
Finalize your UVP and convert it into a summary statement. For example: I help [target audience] to [solve this problem/achieve this goal] through my [unique skill set/approach].
Sprinkle your UVP throughout your profile.
Observe how your profile seems to be working. How many times do you appear in search results? Does anyone contact you?Refine and change your profile as you deem necessary.
Need help with any of this? Let me know. Let's gets started!
